FASTSIGNS International, Inc. – Began franchising in 1986.  Over the years FASTSIGNS has consistently been acknowledged as a top rated franchise company – noted for franchisee satisfaction, store unit growth rate, average unit volume, and extremely low failure rate.

A consistent performer in Entrepreneur 500, Franchise Business Review Top 50, Success Magazine Franchisor rankings, and Franchise Times 200 just to name a few.

During my tenure at FASTSIGNS, I held a variety of positions (see below) that encompassed exposure to literally every area of the business, and from the stage of start up to mature franchisor.  Areas of responsibility at various times included:

  • Overall responsibility for financial performance of the company – oversaw budgeting and strategic planning, reporting directly to Board of Directors.
  • Reviewed and strategized on acquisition opportunities
  • Franchise Development – Franchise Sales, real estate/site selection, store construction
  • Franchise Relations – formed our Franchise Advisory Council (FAC), and was primary liaison representing the franchisor.
  • Franchise Compliance – served as primary liaison for resolving franchise disputes, establishing and enforcing system wide compliance requirements
  • Oversaw all elements of Operations Department – vendor relations, franchise relations, support personnel
  • Oversaw international activities – franchise development and operations as we expanded into Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Columbia, and Mexico.
  • Joined the company with 20 locations open – left the company 21 years later with over 540 stores open and operating.

During my tenure as president, FASTSIGNS attained all time performance records in the following areas:

  1. EBITDA – $8M+
  2. Total network sales volume – $310M+
  3. Average unit sales volume – $620K+
  4. All time high store count – 540 stores in 6 countries
  5. Oversaw staff in excess of 105 people.
